Back in the year 1999, Elon Musk launched an online banking company from his home, called “x.com“. This venture changed his life forever.

By 2002, he successfully sold “x.com” to eBay for a staggering $1.5 billion, and it was transformed into the widely known PayPal.

With the proceeds from this sale, Elon Musk founded a company dedicated to spacecraft manufacturing and satellite communications in that same year – Space Exploration Technologies Corporation, more commonly referred to as “SpaceX.” Once again, ‘X’ proved to be fortunate for him, as SpaceX emerged as the most profitable private space company.

Following that, Elon Musk began investing in Tesla in the year 2004, eventually becoming its major shareholder by 2006. Consequently, in 2008, he seized the leadership role and took on the position of product architect.

In 2015, Tesla unveiled its third car, which Musk named – Model ‘X’. This remarkable vehicle achieved tremendous success and earned its place in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Moving on to the year 2020, Elon Musk’s spouse, Grimes (Claire Boucher), welcomed a baby boy into the world, and they bestowed upon him the name – X Æ A-12. However, it’s worth noting that Elon Musk and his partner, Grimes (Claire Boucher), had initially named their son “X Æ A-12,” but later modified the name to “X AE A-Xii.”. His first name is “X,” his middle name is “AE A-XII,” and his last name is “Musk.”

This year, on 12.Jul’23, Elon Musk introduced an AI company that enters the competitive arena alongside existing players like ChatGPT. Musk decided to call his new venture – xAI.

By now, you must have understood the reason behind Twitter’s renaming to X. This singular letter, ‘X,’ holds a significant place in Musk’s journey.

Did you know, Elon Musk still retains ownership of the domain name ‘x.com.’

Presently, ‘x.com‘ redirects to Twitter, but in the past, the website www.x.com used to redirect to PayPal.
